**Lesson Plan: Basic Science and Technology - Primary 2**
**Topic: Draw Objects of Choice**
**Objective:**
- Students will be able to identify and draw objects.
- Students will develop fine motor skills and creativity through drawing.
- Students will learn to name and describe the objects they draw.
**Materials Needed:**
- Drawing paper
- Pencils
- Erasers
- Crayons/Colored pencils
- Examples of objects (e.g., fruits, animals, household items)
- Chart paper and markers
**Duration:**
- 45 minutes
**Lesson Outline:**
1. **Introduction (10 minutes)**:
- Welcome the students and introduce the topic.
- Engage students by asking them about their favorite objects.
- Show examples of objects that they can choose to draw (e.g., apple, cat, ball, house).
2. **Instruction (10 minutes)**:
- Discuss basic shapes that make up different objects (e.g., a circle for the sun, a rectangle for a door).
- Demonstrate drawing a simple object step-by-step on the board. For example, an apple:
1. Draw a big circle for the apple.
2. Add a small oval at the top for the leaf stem.
3. Draw a leaf attached to the stem.
- Emphasize the importance of observing details of the object they choose to draw.
3. **Guided Practice (10 minutes)**:
- Distribute drawing paper, pencils, and erasers to each student.
- Ask students to select an object they would like to draw.
- Walk around the classroom to provide individual assistance and feedback as students start drawing.
- Encourage students to take their time and add as many details as possible to their drawing.
4. **Independent Practice (10 minutes)**:
- Allow students to continue drawing and coloring their chosen object independently.
- Encourage creativity and self-expression. Students can add backgrounds or other elements to their drawings if they wish.
5. **Presentation (5 minutes)**:
- Ask a few volunteers to come forward and show their drawings to the class.
- Have each student name their object and perhaps one detail they included in their drawing.
6. **Review and Closing (5 minutes)**:
- Recap the importance of observation and detail in drawing.
- Praise students for their efforts and creativity.
- Collect the drawings to display them in the classroom or on a bulletin board.
**Assessment:**
- Assess students based on their participation, effort in drawing, and ability to describe their objects.
- Provide positive feedback and suggestions for improvement where necessary.
**Extension Activity:**
- Allow students to create a short story about the object they drew, encouraging narrative skills alongside their artistic expression.
**Notes for the Teacher:**
- Be patient and encouraging, as students in Primary 2 are still developing their fine motor skills.
- Focus on the process and creativity rather than the perfection of the drawings.
- Make sure to walk around and offer guidance to ensure every student feels supported.
